CO-FOUNDER, MELINK.AI · HOST, WE ARE STILL HUMAN

Software should disappear. People shouldn’t.

Entrepreneur. Technologist. Strategist. Builder. I have worked in risk, agriculture, photography, education and software — and now work across voice, identity and AI security, on technology that keeps the human in control. I host We Are Still Human.

01 — What I’ve built

I priced risk before I wrote software.

Phillip Kemp, seated in a chair with his hand to his chin, in an olive blazer and white T-shirt.

Five years pricing agricultural and financial risk at KEMPRO Brokers — futures, options, hedging. Ten years as a wedding photographer. Both taught me to read what is actually there.

Employee #3 at Mwabu, a UK edtech startup, building tablet-based learning and educational games. Then seven years of frontend architecture at BMW’s IT Hub.

In 2024 I started building my own. meLink has one rule: the user leads, the technology follows. Then came We Are Still Human and the six written rules.

02 — What I believe

Technology should serve humanity, not rule it.

  • Strength under control.

The philosophy of meekness: power held in check by discipline. It is how I try to lead, and how I want software to behave.

  • Truth before comfort.

Honesty, integrity, and the willingness to stand for what is right when the room would rather move on.

  • The build is the test.

A position that has not met a real user is a preference; I ship, watch what breaks, and keep what holds.

03 — What I’m exploring

The through-line is human identity and autonomy.

Areas of work, research and development — not a list of things I claim to have mastered.

  • Voice interfaces

Building and testing conversational systems, and asking what a voiceprint should never be allowed to become.

  • Digital identity

Identity, voiceprints and Proof of Human: proving a property without handing over the person.

  • AI security

Safeguards, orchestration and safe data management for systems that act on someone’s behalf.

  • Memory and models

Memory Block development, and deliberate experiments with unrestrained models to find where the guardrails actually are.
